Chiefs GM Brett Veach on Trading with AFC Rivals

Asking Prices Are a Tick Higher

Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach spoke to reporters on Tuesday about the team's recent trades with AFC rivals. Veach said that the asking prices for players have increased in recent years, making it more difficult to make deals within the conference.

"The asking prices are a tick higher," Veach said. "I think that's just the nature of the league now. Everyone knows what everyone else is doing, and they know what they have. So, it's a little bit more difficult to make deals within the AFC."

Veach added that the Chiefs are still looking to make moves before the NFL Draft, but they are being patient.

"We're still looking to add some pieces," Veach said. "We're not going to force anything, but we're definitely looking to improve our team."

The Chiefs have made a few moves this offseason, including trading for wide receiver Kadarius Toney and cornerback DeAndre Baker. Veach said that the team is happy with the additions they have made so far.

"We're excited about the players we've added," Veach said. "We think they can help us win a championship."

The Chiefs are coming off a Super Bowl victory in 2019. They lost in the AFC Championship Game last season.
